A Message from Mrs. Tarasiuk and Mrs. Sosin 4/27/18

It has been a fantastic week at Einstein! Our 1st/2nd grade team won the district-wide Battle of the Books competition and we are so incredibly proud of their hard work! First graders also put on a fantastic music program! The stands were packed. The PTA tie dye event is currently in the works and students have been very excited to create their grade-level spirit shirts for Field Day. Be sure to check out our Einstein Facebook page for photos. All shirts will be washed and distributed back to your child in time for Field Day! A huge thank you to our families for your support! We couldn’t do it without you!

On May 2nd there will be a Half-day Inservice-School Dismissal at 11:40AM

A reminder that the summer grant applications are due Friday May 4th, if you have any questions please contact the office.

***2018-2019 School Year Registration is Due Monday, April 30th

Students will not be placed on class lists without updated registration.

Last week information was either emailed or mailed to parents about registering children for next school year.  Here is what you need to do:

  1. Update Your Information: Log on to the parent portal before Monday April 30, 2018 to review the current information and make any necessary changes. You must hit the SUBMIT button after reviewing the information, even if you don’t make any changes. If we do not receive this required information by April 30, we will assume your child will no longer be attending District 54 schools. Please inform your school’s secretary where your child will be attending school in the fall so that she can prepare your child’s records for transfer.
  2. Prove Residency: All families are required to prove that they live within District 54 boundaries every year. You will be able to upload your proof of residency through the parent portal (current property tax bill/mortgage statement or lease, and one utility bill and driver’s license).  If you are unable to upload them, you can also bring paper copies to your child’s school as well. If you haven’t created a parent portal account, then you would have received paper copies for registration.  The registration paperwork and your proof of residency are also due to your child’s school by Monday, April 30th.
  3. Pay Student Fees: You are also able to pay the $50 consumable fee as well as purchase milk online through the portal. You may also still submit a check or money order to your child’s current school. If you believe you will qualify for the Free Lunch Program in the 2018-19 school year, and therefore will qualify for a fee waiver, do not pay the consumable material fee now. Applications will be available in August for the Free Lunch Program.

News from the PTA
Teacher Appreciation Week will be the week of May 7th-May 11th and our PTA would love if you would help thank our wonderful staff at Einstein.

The PTA has a special week planned for the staff to thank them for the countless hours of hard work and dedication they put into our children.

This year we will have a Wizard of Oz themed luncheon on Tuesday, May 8th at which time the staff will be presented with a new microwave and Kuerig coffee machine for their lounge as a thank you.  Therefore on Thursday, May 10th, please show your support for our staff to let them know how OZ-SOME they are by sending your child to school with K-cup(s) to donate to the staff for use on their new Kuerig.  The K-cup could come with a note from your child letting them know why they think that staff member is OZ-SOME! We would really appreciate your help in making this day special for the staff so please consider helping and sending a K-cup or collection of K-cups with your child! This staff certainly deserves it!

The schedule for the staff is as follows and we are happy to show them so much support this year!

Monday- Munchkin Monday (Munchkin donuts will be provided to the staff)
Tuesday- Staff Luncheon
Wednesday- No event (half day)
Thursday- You are OZ-SOME!! Please bring a k-cup to school along with your note of gratitude to yourfavorite staff member or two.
Friday-Follow the Yellow Brick Road Concession Stand (Treats and goodies left in the teachers’ lounge)

None of this would be possible without your continued support.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Katie Kopecky at

Bernie’s Book Bank
Bernie’s Book Bank is a non-for-profit organization that has made a pledge to give books to children in impoverished areas. The pledge is 12 books a year for 12 years. We have set a goal as a school to raise 1500 books to donate to Bernie’s Book bank. We will be collecting new or gently used books for donations, from April 30th utill May 11th. The collection bins are located in the front entrance of the school. Thank you In advance for your donations!
