A Message From Mrs. Tarasiuk and Mrs. Sosin – November 5th

Dear Einstein Community,

We are looking forward to our upcoming events, from our American Education Week visit to our Positive Parenting Class to our 3rd grade musical.  Please come help us to celebrate our students.  Please see below for all of the details!

Positive Parenting
Come learn about helpful ways to support your child’s emotional development and balance family stress. We will also discuss strategies for ways to work through conflicts and address discipline concerns with children as they grow and mature. This event will be held on November 6th from 6:00-7:30.  Please email your RSVP, if you have not done so already or if you have any questions to michellecarlson@nullsd54.org  Positive Parenting Flyer wirh RSVP.docx

Reminders
Just a reminder, we will be collecting Halloween Candy to send to troops. We will be collecting until November 6th.

Also, if you have a relative who has served, please send in a scanned photograph with the following information: name, branch they serve/served in, date of service and the relationship to which student(s) at Einstein. If you don’t have a scanned photograph, please bring the photo in and we can scan it and return the original photo right away. We need to have all photographs no later than November 1st.

5 Essentials Survey
Once again we are reaching out to our families and asking you to participate in the annual Illinois 5Essentials Survey to provide us with your perspective and help guide our school improvement efforts. The parent survey will be available online through Feb. 14, 2020, at https://survey.5-essentials.org/Illinois.

Una vez más, nos estamos comunicando con nuestras familias y les pedimos que participen en la Encuesta anual “5Essentials” de Illinois, para brindarnos su perspectiva y ayudar a guiar nuestros esfuerzos de mejoramiento escolar. La encuesta de padres estará disponible en línea hasta el 14 de febrero de 2020 en https://survey.5-essentials.org/Illinois/.

Illinois Report Card
The Illinois State Board of Education annually releases school report cards that show how each school, each district and the state is performing on a wide range of educational goals. The 2019 report card information posted on the state’s website at illinoisreportcard.com and on the District 54 website at sd54.org/schoolreportcards.

The illinoisreportcard.com website contains results from the Illinois Assessment of Readiness, as well as information about student and teacher demographics, enrollment and financial information. The report card also includes results from the 5Essentials survey, which was given to students in grades 6 through 8, certified staff and parents last year. If you do not have access to the Internet or prefer to receive a hard copy, you may call the school at 630-736-2500.

Performers needed for Multicultural Event 2020
Each year the District 54 Department of Language and Culture, along with the Schaumburg Park District, presents a Multicultural Event showcasing the diversity represented by students in District 54.  They are looking for groups and individuals who are interested in performing at this year’s event on Saturday, March 7.  Applications for performances will be accepted from November 14-26.  An informational meeting will be held at 3:30 on Tuesday, November 12 at the Rafferty Administration Center, 524 E. Schaumburg Road, Schaumburg, for those who would like to apply early. Click here to access the application. Se necesitan actos para el Evento Multicultural 2020
Cada año, el Departamento de Lenguaje y Cultura, junto con el Distrito de Parques de Schaumburg, presenta un evento multicultural que muestra la diversidad representada por los estudiantes del Distrito 54. Estamos buscando estudiantes que deseen participar en un acto grupal o individual durante el evento multicultural, pautado para el Sábado 7 de marzo de 2020.  Las solicitudes para participar serán aceptadas entre el 14 al 26 de noviembre. Una reunión informativa se llevará a cabo el martes 12 de noviembre  a las 3:30 en el Centro de Administración Rafferty para aquellos ser los primeros en someter sus aplicaciones. Schaumburg Parent University – November classes
Schaumburg Parent University (SPU) is designed to involve more parents in the life of the school, to strengthen family relationships, and to improve parenting skills that will ultimately result in improved student success academically, socially and emotionally. There are two evening programs scheduled for November. Please note that child care is always available.

Steps to Changing a Child’s Behavior – November 11
Greta Nielsen, LCPC, NCC, Clinical Director and Psychotherapist at Clinical Care Consultants, will share tips, techniques and tools to build parenting skills and positive relationships with your children. Learn ways to encourage and empower your child to independently problem-solve and feel good about themselves. Minimize power struggles and tantrums, while improving communication. You will walk away with strategies for encouraging positive behaviors and stopping the negative ones by developing both natural and logical consequences. Be the effective parent you want to be by bringing calm, joy and respect to your home. This class will take place from 6-7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11 at the District 54 Professional Learning Center, 522 E. Schaumburg Road, Schaumburg (enter through Door C1). Adults only. ABCs of Family Fitness – November 21
Most of us think about ABCs in terms of reading and writing. This class, guided by Melt Pilates and Yoga owner, personal trainer and yoga instructor Shannon Tampa, will focus on Abs, Biceps and Core. Support your child’s social emotional success by ensuring they stay healthy, challenged and engaged during this quality family time! This class will take place from 6-7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21 at the District 54 Professional Learning Center, 522 E. Schaumburg Road, Schaumburg (enter through Door C1). ABCs of Fitness flyer

La Universidad Schaumburg para Padres – Clases de noviembre
La idea de la Universidad para Padres es envolver más a los padres in la vida escolar, para fortalecer las relaciones familiares, y mejorar los conocimientos de crianza que finalmente resultarán en un mejor éxito académico, social y emocional del estudiante. Greta Nielsen, LCPC, NCC, directora clínica y psicoterapeuta de Clinical Care Consultants compartirá consejos, técnicas y herramientas para desarrollar habilidades de crianza y relaciones positivas con sus hijos. Aprenda maneras de alentar y capacitar a su hijo para resolver problemas de manera independiente y sentirse bien con el mismo. Minimice las luchas de poder y las rabietas, a medida que mejora la comunicación. Saldrá con estrategias para fomentar comportamientos positivos y detener los negativos mediante el desarrollo de consecuencias lógicas y naturales.
